Po Dunk’s Gallery of Inferior Art I

The small town I grew up in was made up of mostly low middle class families. People worked in the various businesses you would find in any small town 70 or more years ago and others worked in a Brown Shoe factory that had moved to town. Some commuted to other nearby towns to work. Many of the citizens and many living in the surrounding area worked in the timber. But one thing you could say is we weren’t greatly drawn to the Arts. That has changed over say the past twenty years or so.

The town now has an Arts Council, an annual plein air painting event, musical groups are brought in and other events. The town is trying to become Artsy and a visitor destination. One of the attractions is a place called Zeke’s Gallery where the plein air paintings are displayed along with other art. But I would like to tell you of another gallery that is not located in this town.

I have a close acquaintance who I call Po Dunk for short who has an art gallery of sorts that is located elsewhere. He refers to it as Po Dunk’s Gallery of Inferior Art (as opposed to a “Fine Art”.) and Po has asked me to display some of the art he has here at Lou’s Place. This will be the first batch and more will come along as available.
